Al-Taj News – Spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior Abdul Karim Abu Dalou said that the number of Syrian refugees who have returned to their country to settle there reached 231,720 people as of September 12.
Abu Dalou added on Sunday that the number of Syrians residing in Jordan stands at around one million, including 76,936 in camps, of whom 34,000 are in Zaatari Camp and 31,000 are in Azraq Camp.
He said that Jordan has dealt with the Syrian refugee crisis “professionally” by receiving refugees in accordance with response plans that comply with international standards and human rights requirements.
He noted that Jordan has provided a range of facilities and procedures, in addition to cash assistance, to facilitate the return of Syrians to their country. It has also allowed them to submit exit and return applications to prepare the conditions for them and reassure themselves about their situation.
He explained that the number of exit and return applications submitted from July 27 until today reached 14,165 applications.
According to Abu Dalou, the number of Syrian births in Jordan reached approximately 272,246 as of August 31, 2026.
